2006 is looking to be quite a year. With Vista, Socket M2, U3e games, SM4, PPU's and dual core GPU's? to mention just a few.
I'm happy with my current setup, but the higher vcore and 8 phase power (among other things) have me wanting this for my next system.
How long untill the enthusiast boards with ddr2/socket M2 hit the streets?
Will it take 2-3 revisions (like going from the A8n SLI Del. to the current A8n32) to get to peak performance?
I really like what Asus is doing with the heatpipe cooling. I'm just curious as to how much of a technical challenge it will be get to a top performing board with the M2/DDR2?
I'm guessing it will be at least this time next year before the new Socket M2 boards are nearing the top of their game?
If thats the case I will probably go for this board with the release of the G71. I'm thinking the extra PCI e lanes might be needed for the best SLI performance with the next gen cards?
I have started playing my games at these higher resolutions and they look great, but it's sure going to cost me.
Any thoughts?
