I have said mobo (see sig) which has been working fine, that is untill I came home and tried booting up. All sudden the SATA drive isnt recognised at all.

Ive checked the boot up sequence and its set to Floppy>CDROM>HDD (which in this case isnt recognised anymore)

Under MAIN>IDE Config, the SATA1 and 2, 3 and 4 are set to enabled. I have tried inserting the cable into sata 1, 2 then 3 and 4. Still nothing makes this drive recognised.

The only system changes ive made were a cpu (opteron 170) upgrade and it was working great.

What other t-shoot options can i try. I dont really have much sata experience as i do with old school IDE drives.

Am i missing somehting? Is there a peticular bios setting i need to check regarding SATA drives?

Thx in advance.

EDIT: I forgot that I did do a BIOS upgrade from ver 1009 to 1403 but the system has been running fine since I did the flash over 3 days ago.

That is a Beta BIOS, and I would roll back to the old BIOS until the 1405 is no longer BEta before you flash the BIOS.

you know that you MB has 2 distinct controller. The nvidia one that don't need drivers if not set to RAID and another one that will need drivers. So, read the manual to find which controller you plugged your drive to, and that will help you.
