ASUS A8n32-SLI and Enermax Noisetaker 600W PSU 20pin + 4 pin

I just recently bought componants to build myself a new up-to-date system to play my games on and have hit a snag during the cabeling of the PSU to the mobo MAIN connector on an ASUS A8N32-sli mobo.

This is my first time working with the newer pinned (20 + 4) PSUs / mobos so thats why im uncertain where this extra added +4 pin goes to... i dont want to blow this thing up lol

On the a8n32-sli diagram, it shows the MAIN power connector (called EATXPWR) with 24 pins in a row, which i guess would allow the 20 +4 to fit into, but what is the ATX 12v 4 pin connector behind the keyboard / mouse port for? This is NOT where the added MAIN PSU +4 pin goes into then? Im confused at how the asus manual words these things.

Does the 20 + 4 pin just go in the MAIN connector called EATXPWR? I wonder if then im missing some psu cables for that ATX 12v 4 pin connector?

hmm

Thx for the help in advance! 🙂

I've got the same mobo and power supply. The 4pin plug from the 20+4 combo isn't meant to be placed in the 12v 4pin plug behind the mouse port. There was a 5pin to 4pin adapter plug that came with my power supply. This created the 12v 4pin plug that I used. Your version of this ps might be newer so this may not apply to your situation.

thx for the quick response! I am a dork! I totally missed that adapter you mentioned (5pin to 4 pin) cuz it was in the power cable box hiding underneath it. I didnt bother to even open that up since i wasnt rdy to power up the system yet anyways. So now its all clear to me where those plugs go. Is it mandatory i use this 5pin to 4 pn adapter to the ATX 12v connector or is it only for SLI configurations?

I believe it's mandatory. The EZ plug I believe is needed only if you use SLI, but I'm using it anyway since I'm running an EVGA 7800GT. The extra juice doesn't seem to hurt.
