ASUS A8N-VM CSM and Plextor PX-716A

I have an A8N-VM CSM paired with a Plextor PX-716A running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. I have the lastest drivers from nvidia installed. Fresh install. I was trying to burn a DVD (I had moved this Plextor over from my older Asus A7V266 motherboard/AMD 1900+ computer). It was burning DVDs at a rate of about 7-8 minutes per DVD (about 4.5GB). Now it's taking about 30 minutes. I checked the advanced settings on that IDE channel and saw that it was in PIO transfer mode. How do I get this to recognize my Plextor in DMA mode????
