Of late, I've ended up getting an offer on certain parts in my system that would effectively have them sold for MSRP.

However, I'm now at a loss. As it is, I have a DFI Lanparty UT 250gb with an A64 3200+.

Of all the nForce4's I see out there, only the Asus A8N-SLI is a significant upgrade for me.

I'm looking for 8 SATA ports with RAID-5, and PCI-express.

I've even heard that the A8N-SLI will be compatible with future dual-core procs, which would be very nice.

However, as it is, I don't see anything on the A8N-SLI that is truly "OMG! Must have!" for me at it's current price.

Am I missing something? One thing I would like to know if all the SATA ports were locked (The PATA/PCI bus is locked, of course?), unlike this DFI Lanparty where it only has the Silicon Image ports locked.

Essientially, my question is this - Is there a better mobo on the market that meets my needs? I saw the Gigabyte board - it had 8 SATA ports as well, but searching revealed no information either way on RAID-5. A casual search revealed little information on other manufacturer's boards, and ETA was more than vague.
