Asus A8N-SLI Raid Setup

Installing WinXP with a raid setup on the Asus A8N-SLI motherboard. My question is about loading the raid driver during XP setup. I just built this new system and I don't want to install a floppy drive if it's at all possible. Is there anyway to load the raid driver from another media besides a floppy disk? I don't know if this is a limitation from WinXP or if the A8N-SLI BIOS will let me use either a CD or a jump drive to emulate a floppy. Any help would be appreciated.

Check out the new Asus Intel SLI mobo released a few days ago. Notice how they have used AMD SLI version customers to revise the mobo. No whiney chipset fan. SLI led indicatore light...I'm sure they managed to make things very nice for their cash-cow Intel customers AFTER using us as lab-rats with their rush to market AMD SLI set-up.

Sounding a bit pissed??? You bet i am!!!

Its a Windows thing. And as far as I know, YES you have to have a floppy to install the raid drivers. I added a $10 floppy to my system for just this purpose

I would like to be keept in the loop here. Is it possibsle to use a USB memory-device or something else, instead of a floppy.

1. I don't intend on buying a floppy drive.
2. Not even my laptop has a floppy drive.
3. Does anyone even own a floppy, that is not at least two years old.

Btw...what about windows XP SP2, does it support it? Or is the only good solution to create a slipstream version of windows, with the drivers?

Copy that...YOU WON'T GET AROUND BUYING A FLOPPY DRIVE... Sorry...😛
Also bought one for this sole purpose...at least you get nice silver ones 🙂

Thanks for the help everyone. Guess I'll connect a floppy drive just for the initial install portion then disconnect it during the first reboot.
