hi,

i got trouble with q-fan. if i enable it my system wont boot, it hangs up @ the boot logo. i have to erase cmos and reboot.

may this be becouse my fans are incompatible ? i use noiseblocker ultra silent fan sx1 120mm on the cpu and 1 case fan (same).

but if i unplug all fans (except mb) it wont boot either....

smd ideas ?

ok i got the system to boot by flashing the latest bios(beta), but it isnt working correctly.

it spins down my cpu-fan + cha fan but not the mb fan (which is by far the loudest).
+ asus probe cannot detect the correct rpm for my cha fan. it jumped between 0 and ~22000, also negative values appear ...

also my cpu heats up to 61degree bevore it was about 57.

i should say that i removed a case-fan becouse i thought i would not need it. with 2 case fans the cpu hardly reaches 50degrees.
is 61 too much ?

When I enable q-fan it only slows my chassis fan and CPU fan, and not my chipset fan. I don't think it is supposed to slow the chipset fan. And my values for the CPU fan were also all over the place like yours, so I wouldn't worry about that. When I had it enabled my CPU reached 51 degrees under load with q-fan enabled (Newcastle 3500+ with Zalman 7000A fan).

according to the manual it should definitly reduce the chipset-fan speed. but it doesn, it reduces my case fan + cpu fan but not chipset which is by far the loudest of all =(
