I have on the above board for a week now tried to get a stable RAID 0 boot array functioning with only very limited success.
I have tried both the onboard NVidia Controller, and the onboard SiI 3114 controller, but with out managing to getting a stable system.
A number of errors are shown, varying from the array going offline to downloaded files not passing CRC tests. Downloading the same file on my old computer works fine, and accessing the file on the old computer via a LAN posees no problem, leading me to think this is a RAID controller - HD comaptibilty problem.
I contacted ASUS by mail, but still havent got any response. I contacted WD by mail, and got a reply suggesting that I increase the timeout of the RAID controller towards the disks, as the disks not being able to respond to requests in time may be the problem.
The only problem is that neither in the NVidia nor in the SiI 3114 RAID setup have I found a place to see/set this timeout period.
Can anyone assist me in determining how this can be managed, or any other ideas on how to get the array stable.
