I noticed one of the 'error' msgs listed in the manual for the Voice post reporter is "No IDE HD", is that just info it's giving or will that cuase a boot error? If so, what do I have to change if I'm using just 2 SATA drives but no IDE HDs? The only IDE device will be the DVD Burner.

Also, which SATA ports on the mobo should I use? I recall someone mentioned something about using a particular set if you were going to overclock because their speed was locked, but I can't find that now.

Thanks,
BGC

You can disable the "No IDE HD" error message in the bios. You can use any of the nf4 chipset SATA ports. I use three of them and have no problems overclocking.

I only have a nec 3540a dvdrw drive under the IDE primary controller and I dind't have to disable any options in the bios.

About which controller to use, lots of people are complaining about the silicon controller's perforamce so I'd say go with the Nvidia controller

If you're using your SATA drives in a RAID array, you should have them plugged into the silicon image controllers. Otherwise, connect them to the regular SATA controllers.

fyi - I have my SATA RAID on the nf4 chipset. The nf4 chipset can handle SATAII while the Silicon controller can only do SATA 1.5
