ASUS A8N-SLI Premium unstable

I have identified my main overclocking wall as my MB. It runs unstable at an HTT of 280 and won't boot above 285. What can I do about this? I have the chipset voltage at 1.6v and the and HTT voltage at 1.25v, both of which are the highest setting. Are there any settings that are relevant to this that I don't know about? I would really like to reach my CPU's full potential at 2.8 or 2.9 GHz.

Yes. if I set the multiplier low, around 7 or 8, drop the ram to DDR 266, it won't even get past IDE detection over 285 HTT.

sounds a little low....

my ASUS A8N-Sli (Standard edition) got up to 325 HTT, after that it would post but not enter windows...

have u tried dropping the multi some more? think when i did it my multi was on about 5-6
