Asus A8N-SLI Premium Or Abit AN8-SLI???
I donno which to get?
Both look good but it seems alot more folks have tried the Asus out. Is it better for Ocing? I'm getting mixed results from reviews I've seen.
I would get the non premium Asus but I have heard bad stories about the Chipset fan
I would just get the Asus but its like $35 more at Newegg. Is it worth it?

Abit. Asus's quality has dimished in recent history. And i've used three Asus motherboards; my current one is the worst mobo i've ever owned.

On another note, i see you are finally going PCI-e...which video card? Which new CPU?

You & i have had similar systems/upgrade paths for as long as i can remember on these forums 🙂

I wouldn't.

The two Asus mobos before had nVidia/VIA chipsets.

I'm actually generally very unbiased, but i am incredibly sick of Asus, since their "great" reputation is based on past quality, not current.

The A8N32-SLI Deluxe is about the only decent Asus AMD motherboard out there IMO, & the MSI Diamond is better, so that cancels out the only Asus i'd recommend.

I agree about the K8N Diamond. I'd take that board over any other for sale right now. But I do have to say that I've had pretty good luck with my A8N-SLI Premium so far. It's more mobo than I need right now.

Opteron 165, + an XFX 7900 GT Extreme Both from monarch.
$282 for the CPU and $329 for the video card + City of Villians.

I might cancel the XFX if I see Newegg put the Evga 7900 GT 500/1500 back up for $299 though hehe.

I really wanted to get a fan less SLI mobo set up but maybe I should skip both of these two mobo's huh?

I havn't owned an MSI since the via KT3 days and I can't say I was impressed... Maybe I should take a look though eh?

wow just looked at the MSI board it looks really nice!!! I wish it wasn't almost twice what I was planning on spending on the mobo...
