ASUS A8N-SLI Premium and BIOS memory settings

Hi there.

First off sorry if this has been posted before. I did a search, but found nothing, or at least nothing useful enough, honest.

Also, forgive me my ingorance, noobishnes, not seeing the obvious etc.


OK, so i just got my spanking new A8N-SLI Premium. CPU is A64 3200+, memory is Geil 2x512 DDR400 UltraX (2-5-2-2 timings). Now, when i change default BIOS settings for timings to the ones provided by producer, my PC simply refuses to cooperate. Failed memory test, bad BIOS checksum, not enough low level memory for OS. I have to reset CMOS.

Default settings [Auto] :

CAS# latency (Tcl) ----------------- 2,5T
Min RAS# active time (Tras) ------ 5T
RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) ------ 3T
row precharge time (Trp) --------- 3T
row cycle time (Trc) --------------- 11T
row rerfesh cyc time (Trfc) ------- 14T
read-to-write time (Trwt) --------- 4T
write recovery time (Twr) -------- 3T
1T/2T memory timing ------------- 2T


Ive been only meddling with Tcl, Tras, Trcd and Trp, since i know nothing about the others.

Any ideas on what should i do to get the proper timings?
