I went through the other posts on the A8N-SLI and couldn't determine if there's been a final solution to the post problem.

Right now I have an A8N-SLI Deluxe and just ran into this problem after a week of smooth operation. Unfortunately, it's been about 8 hours since I couldn't post. I was worried that my CPU was overheating or something (temp was at 40, no problem there).

Will a BIOS update fix this issue? I'd hate to throw away money on a new motherboard =\ I don't know how I'd update my BIOS if I can't even post or read a floppy drive though.

Were you overclocking your system? Have you tried clearing your CMOS? Have you tried removing the motherboard from the case and just leaving your ram, video card and cpu in?

It's more than likely a configuration issue.

A) Not overlcocking

B) Have cleared the CMOS. I tried setting the jumper for 60 seconds and left the motherboard battery out all day (yes, it was unplugged too =p)

C) Right now the motherboard is sitting on a static sheet with nothing but 1 stick of RAM, the video card, and the CPU. It still wouldn't post in this configuration

From what I've read, a lot of other people have had this bizarre problem as well where the motherboard simply will not post. It was working fine until I did a reboot and then suddenly it won't post anymore. While I was setting this computer up a week ago it had problems like this a few times. Clearing the CMOS worked the first two times, the third time I removed all devices and then it worked after I plugged everything back in. This time I can remove everything, replace RAM, replace video card, but it won't post. I was hoping that there was some sort of solution to this supposedly "infamous" problem.

If you can test the ram, cpu and especially the graphic card, then you could try that. After all those components are trouble free, then you have eliminated everything down to the mobo. Let me just remind you to plug in the 4 pin 12v connection, and make sure all components are plugged in securely. Otherwise, asus rma is quite courteous, but it may take up to two weeks for you to get your new board.

Newegg was nice enough to give me a refund, thanks newegg! They probably realized that I'd just spend it with them anyway :p

I don't even mind the 15% restock fee, I'm going to buy a Gigabyte or something

Thanks for the help all

I just set one of these boards up.. no probs whatsoever.. I think this is probably a one-off. I did however forget the 4pin connection and pulled my hair out for 4 hours.
