ASUS A8N-SLI: How do I disable the RAID controller?

How do I disable the onboard RAID controller? I've set the nvRAID controller to disabled in the BIOS but everytime the computer boots, after POSTing I see it checking for RAID devices and it says press "Ctrl-S or F4" to enter setup. It's quite annoying because it takes a while to timeout since I don't have any RAID devices hooked up.

How can I disable this?

I can't find an option for this... can you tell me where it's at?

Also, should I bother updating my BIOS to the latest version?

its in the bios.. under onboard devices.. disable all SATA raid options.
