Have an A8N-SLI bios version 1006 with a 1gb kit of Corsair ValueSelect PC-3200 memory @ CAS-2.5. Computer runs fine. I recently purchased another gig of memory becaue of the low prices but I somehow ended up with the CAS 3.5 version of the memory. When I install all four modules the BIOS and Windows only see 1gb of memory no matter what slots the sticks are in. Both sets work fine by themselves in either set of slots, so I do not think it is an issue with the memory slots. I have yet to try an older bios version. Any ideas?

Are they all double sided? It makes a difference on my MSI board. I only can run two blocks of double sided RAM, or four of single sided. Look on the Asus website for a compatibility list.

That's a good point. I will have to look through my pictures to find out as I have heat spreaders on the original memory now. The new ones are single sided though. I may just have to sell my original 1gb kit and buy a second one...

EDIT: I just looked at theQVL again and my original memory which is apparently double sided is listed as being supported in four slots

Here's another update. Both sets of memory are double sided. CPUz shows all four sticks of memory as being present on the SPD tab but the memory tab lists 1024mb of memory. The following is according to CPUz:

Slots 1&2
Module Size: 512mb
Max Bandwidth PC3200
Manufacturer: Corsair
Part Number: VS512MB400C3
Frequency: 200mhz
Cas Latency: 3
Ras to Cas: 3
Ras Precharge: 3
Tras: 8

Slots 3&4
Module Size: 512mb
Max Bandwidth PC3200
Manufacturer: Corsair
Part Number: VS512MB400
Frequency: 200mhz
Cas Latency: 2.5
Ras to Cas: 3
Ras Precharge: 3
Tras: 8

Sandra 2005 says the following

Bank0/1 - A0 Empty
Bank2/3 - A1 None None None None DIMM 512MB/64
Bank4/5 - A2 Empty
Bank6/7 - A3 None None None None DIMM 512MB/64

Update your BIOS. I had your problem as well, so I updated my BIOS to version 1007.

Upon reboot all 4 DIMM's were recognized in the BIOS giving 2GB, and in windows as well.

I have the same Corsair value select you've got (2 sticks) and 2 other sticks of mushkin 2.5CAS. My timings are 2.5-3-3-8, 2T.

I manually set the RAM speed to 400MHz, the HT bus to 5X, and I'm running my Athlon64 3200 at 2250MHz (225x10). I'm using all default voltages, AGP pegged to 33MHz, and PCIEx at 100MHz.

Seems stable so far, playing EQ2 with all features on. I may get more aggressive with timings and overclocking if these settings prove stable.
