If i'm not wrong, newegg/chiefvalue actually sends all the asus refurbs back to asus. I ordered a a7n8x refurb & it looked like a actualy refurb & not an open box.

I have the same board and its only given me problems once. I RMA'd it and came back with a fully working board and has been rock solid since.

I am on my second A8N-SLI board. The one was a retail board that I accidently killed. The second was a refurb from NewEgg. Neither one of them have given me any problems. 9 times out of 10 problems with this board turn out to be a PSU that is not good enough for an SLI system.

This is a great price for one of the better SLI boards, as long as you are not expecting to get a major overclock out of it. Only downside is you probably won't get all the extras like the I/O shield and bridge chip.

I am running the Antec 550W unit in it...pull the mobo out and stick in a MSI bd, everything works, pull out the MSI and install he Asus and nothing...

Not having to do with this board but I have an ASUS board currently out for RMA for the second time. The first time I sent it to them (on my dime) with a minor bootup problem with the board hanging on device detection. Received the board back DOA with a packing slip that showed "Repaired: 0". The board was the exact same one I sent (serial matched). Called them up (on my dime again, long distance) and after 30 minutes I finally was able to get them to pick it up for free. I asked for an advanced RMA so that it wouldn't turn into a month long problem. I was told they would have to charge a non-refundable $10 fee plus $50 (which would be reimbursed when they received my board).

Not impressed with their RMA service, poor email support, no toll-free number. Not what I expect from one of the leading manufacturers.
