Im placing an order as we speak, I will find out shortly

Edit: Allright, I placed my order and was greeted by the out of stock refresh. I called them up the guy said that from the time i first posted till now (about 3 min) they had 10 and they sold out, However!! never fear they are getting a very large shipment of them on friday. Soo its going down.

I noticed the price jumped up 30 from 295 to 325 in a matter of min which sucks, i mean come on a 300 dollar motherboard sure im going to buy it....but damn :p

It would appear as if Monarch is price gouging. This does not really surprise me though. When they were the only ones that have the new SKT 939's they were gouging also. I will never buy from bottom of the lake scum like this. They must feel like if they are first top have it they can charge whatever they feel like and buy from us if you want too. No Thanks I will wait before shitholes like this get any of my money. $325 when zip zoom is $100 cheaper? What pieces of crap.

I agree, this kind of price gouging is despicable. I have ordered from Monarch in the past, and had good luck. Thought they were reputable? I will probabally not deal with them in the future.

I can't believe they are willing to turn off good customers just to make a quick buck (I build 8-10 computers a year and will probabally spend $$$$$$$'s in the next 5 years on parts)

Really dumb on their part!

Why not save $200 and get the Asus A8V instead? The gains to be had on an NF4 board are few.

Xtreme gear had them in stock last Friday night I believe. Friday it said "Hurry, only 14 pieces available". Saturday morning it said "Hurry, only 4 pieces available. Later on Saturday, they were out of stock.

AGP versus PCIe. I agree, the performance difference is not there, but NF4 boards are more futureproof because of PCIe. But better to wait until other AMD64 PCIe solutions are here to make prices competitive.

It is possible, when a company like this offers the stuff before others that they paid extra to do so. Maybe they paid a premium and are passing the price on to those who want it now and don't care about the price.

If I was buying I would be mad too... but since I'm buying a $120 MB and thinking I should go cheaper... this does not apply to me, so maybe I can look at it from another angle? regardless... the price will go down.

the thing is, since there are like 10 different sites getting them, and all at different times, they just sell them immediately when they come in, and at that time they are the only ones who have them, so they can charge whatever they want. Once they are all trying to sell them at the same time, they won't be able to price guage like that, especially not if Zipzoomfly is selling theirs for $225. Over the next week, it's looking like a lot of these companies will be getting supplies of the boards, so i think $225-250 will be the typical price. Remember, monarch's prices were pretty reasonable for the 90nm parts in the beginning, and whenever someone else was also selling them, but whenever the other companies were out of stock, monarch would jack up the prices again. During any time period in which only one retailer has something for sale, expect to pay through the nose, and that's whats happening, now.

Exactly! They are scum as far as I am concerned. I will never buy anything from them after they showed their true colors.

uh, they aren't the only ones. At one point on newegg the 90nm 3200+ was $275, once again because of low supply. All these places do it. Besides, even the jacked up prices are lower than retail normal prices. The 3000+ (754) is like $200 at a Micro Center. Yeah, it sucks, but they only jack up the prices because people are stupid enough to pay them. If monarch is only getting, say, 50 of these SLI mobos, and they know that at least 50 of the people waiting for the boards are stupid enough to pay $350 for one, then of course they're gonna charge $350 rather than $200. Once these dumbasses have emptied their bank account on these mobos, and the more sensible majority is still not biting, they'll lower their prices. I don't think this will take long to happen, as long as people don't keep giving in and buying. Customers are in control, and if we have a little willpower, prices will come down very quickly. If, on the other hand, they keep selling out of every shipment at $350, they aren't gonna lower their prices. I'm personally gonna go for Zipzoomfly for $225 when it's available, or if that falls through, I'll just wait till post-christmas.

Why only SLI boards so far, but no Ultras?

Agree gobucks, I hope all these crazy SOBs spend themselves out before Christmas and stuff is going for MSRP after the dust settles. Even if I wasn't going for NF4, and I may not in the end, I'll still wait until after Xmas for hopefully better prices. $225 is still a Hell of a lot for a mobo though.

I don't see people complaining when a vendor sells a product for a lower than suggested price, to clear their stock for example.

I guess you never buy a new car either.

The new Mustang GTs were selling for $5k over sticker, new Corvettes $10k over sticker, M3s sell for $5k over sticker for 2-3years. S2000 were $5k over sticker for months. I guess your deeply seated belief that charging more for a high demand product is evil force you to choose between Hyundai and Saturn, or in this case CompUSA and Best Buy.

Yo Klah!

If you want to flame me at least quote my post, not someone elses!!! DA!

And comparing 5-10% over MSRP on a $50,000 automobile to 150% over MSRP on a $200 mobo! WTF?
I guess you've got yours on order for $350, and are trying justify it to yourself by flaming everybody who has more sense.

Actually, because the motherboard is much cheaper than a car it's easier to see it selling 150% over MSRP. (btw, $350 is not even %100 over MSRP, but anyway).

I don't think klah is justifying anything, he's just pointing out that it's normal for a product to sell over MSRP when the demand is still big. And the demand for "nForce4 SLI" is very high right now.

Like I said, I don't see people complaining that motherboards like the ABIT NF7-S 2.0 and ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe are selling for less than MSRP right now.

Where do you work? ASUS or Monarch? hehe!

No let me guess, you work for Asus & Klah works for Monarch!

And I stand corrected on the M/U $350/$219 is more like 60% over MSRP, what a deal!! will I get more chicks if I get this mobo!

But seriously, The hundred and something bucks difference doesn't mean shit-olla to me, its the principle of the matter!

Yepp....monarch rips people off when it comes to pre-ordering and getting stuff they have in first (compared to others). Otherwise a good company.

Wait one week or so and see prices drop/change literally every hour at monarch.
