Asus A8N SLI Deluxe Marvell Problem

I have a Asus A8N SLI Deluxe motherboard and I am trying to use the Marvell Lan connector as a gateway. I have enabled the Marvell, Lan Boot, etc. in the bios. When I use the PEG link check it says that the cable is okay. However, when I boot up Win XP I receive a limited connectivity problem. It cannot acquire a network address. I have tried restarting and choosing to repair the connection, but nothing resolves the problem. I am not using the Nvidia firewall.

Any ideas?

did you install the Marvell drivers that come packaged with the motherboards install CD ?

I seem to recall these are needed for the Marvell port.. but not the other LAN port..

.. does the other Lan port work ?

Yes, the Nvidia port works just fine.

I installed the latest version of the Marvell driver and the Yukon VCT as well, but I still have the same problem. The port cannot acquire an IP address.

1)when you say that you are not using the nvidia/active armor firewall, can you confirm that you did NOT install it w/chipset drivers as opposed to installing it but disabling it ? Lots of folks had problem with active armor installed regardless of it being disabled

2) then temporarily deactivate any other firewall you may be usin such as the windows provided firewall or zonealarm..just to rule that out...

3) what version is your bios?

I did not install active armor when I installed the chipset drivers. I disabled my firewall as well and the LAN boot in the bios and restarted, but I still get the problem. It can't renew the IP address.

I ran ipconfig and the Marvell has an ip address but no gateway.

My bios is 1013.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
