asus a8n-sli deluxe does not detect sata hd

YES, it is. can't rma because got this one from ebay, this the chance you take when you buy off ebay. ordered the new one from newegg.com

gonna try my maxtor 250g ide hdd. and see if that works

ok maxtor works and i have installed everything, will it be possible to run my ide and sata hdd at the same time. I already ordered the new hdd.

Supposing that the new hard drive function correctly and all your SATA ports are good, then yes you can run both hard drives ok. Just use the new one as a data store for your mp3s, pictures, etc., etc.

yeah, I think I will put my dvd collection on that drive. I think the other drive is dead.
