Asus A8N-SLI / Antec P180 case and the P/S cable "reach problem"

Hi:

Are there any other Antec P180 case owners with Asus A8N-SLI mobos out there? I just recived my P180 case yesterday but have not yet purchased a Power Supply. I've heard via the grapevine that some Power Suppy Power Cables and/or the 4 pin 12V ATX connector cable cannot make the long distance from the case's bottom chamber to the connector location on the motherboard for these two cables.

Again, my motherboard is the Asus A8N-SLI and I want to use either the Seasonic S12-430 or S12-500. Does anyone know if the S12-500 have BOTH power cable and 12V ATX cable length that will make the distance from the lower chamber to the connector positions on the Asus A8N0-SLI mounted in the top chamber ???

Two alternative choices for power supplies are the Enermax EG495P-VE SFMA or the Enermax Whisper II EG565P-VE FMA2.0

Any comments on the Seasonics and this "reach" problem or any suggestions will be appreciated.

thanks,

Greg

The above idea was "borrowed" from the brilliant and clever and just all-around-good-guy GERBIL333.

The last I checked I only had ONE response over at SPCR and that was from a few days ago but thanks for the "heads up"

🙂FYI for those of you with an ASUS mobo and an Antec P180 with the cable reach problem

I emailed Antec to ask if one of their own Power Supplies had cables long enough for their own P180 case. Someone phoned me right away and offered to mail me an extension for the 4 pin 12V ATX connector cable. He would have sent the 20 pin extension too, but they were out of them. So I won't be returning the new PS afterall.

I know there are concerns out there about potential power degradation from the additional connector, but it doesn't bother me. I'm pretty happy with the response from Antec.

a8n-e powered by Antec TPII 380watt, reaches fine for me for both 4 pin and power supply cable in my p180.
