Asus A8N SLI and Corsair XMS 4400?

I have a noob question. I am building a system from scratch for the first time and I bought the Asus A8N SLI motherboard. One of my friends told me I should buy two sticks of 512 mb Corsair XMS 4400 memory for the board. I have seen a few people online who supposedly use this memory with this motherboard. However, the motherboard specs support DDR 400 and this memory is rated at DDR 550. Does anyone know if I can use this memory with my motherboard or will this fry my new Asus?

even if your overclocking there arent many setups out there that'll need memory that high 😱

Thanks for the replies. Two quick things:
(1) Should I infer that installing this memory will not fry my motherboard?
(2) I am planning to start overclocking for the first time with this motherboard. Do you have any recommendations or settings that I should use to overclock this memory to its fullest potential?
