I have started with only one set of Raptors. The Raid configuration of the Raptor says that it is a healthy stripe. That is good.
I have started with one Plextor SATA. The boot shows that the Plextor is seen as a RW DVD. That is good.
During the install of the operating system I press F6 to load the SATA Raid controller driver and SATA Raid drivers, both required by Asus. After the install pauses and asks for the drivers I enter them and continue. Windows XP Pro loads a few more drivers and then says, "Windows will now start." So far so good.

Then I get BSOD STOP: 0x0000007b (0xF7C7D63C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) Not good!
I changed the configuration to individual drives, changed to connection from the nforce SATA to the SIlicon Image SATA, and changed the Plextor connection around as well. Nothing helps. I always get the same message. Asus has not yet been helpful.

Anyoe out there have any brilliant ideas?

I love replying to my own cry for help! LOLOL
I borrowed a friend's plain old CD-ROM and whala, Windows installs like a champ. After I install Windows, I will try to install the DVD's and see if they now work.
