So I've got 7 hard drives. 5 are in a storage array on a promise supertrak 8350 running raid5. I used to boot off of it, but for some reason I can't break 25MB/s in write speeds, even though I ahve 200 in read. So I wanted to boot off of a raid stripe on the nforce4 array and use the other one for storage, but it refuses to boot off of it. It doesn't find an OS on the promise card and then gives me a disk boot failure. It doesn't even try to look for an os on the nvraid. On the flip side, i can boot off of the promise card and use the stripe for storage, but that defeats the purpose.
