Hi Anandtech guys,

I just bought 2 more 512 Crucial ballistix modules. I was thinking firs tto get one but a deal popped up so I grabbed 2.

All these modules were tested indiviually and were capable running at 1t and reached 260mhz.

Now. I tried dual channel. Ran them first in auto. Results were insulting! at 170mhz. Then tried to set it to 266 3-4-4-8. Still same results. These are rated at ddr500 and I cant even reach 200. I am using 2.9 volts. My bios is the beta version 1011 I think.

Any ideas? Also. When i popped them all in they are recognized but Windows only allocated 256??WTF?

Thanks

I don't have Crucial. But I have Corsair.

As I know, if you want to OC, you need to use divider and multiplier according to speed you want to OC.

Normally, with DDR500, you can get max to FSB 250 or 275 with some special RAM. In most case, I see 250 is the most stable one as people can get.

Besides, you need to have more experience about 1T for 2 slots, and 2T for 4 slots in NFORCE4 chipset.

Good luck

Are you using slots 1 & 3 for Dual Channel ?

How do they run with all the OC options turned off/disabled ?

I not exactly sure where you're at on here - is this a new build/first config setup or are just now trying to OC ?
