I m making a new System for a friend, it's going to be a Athlon64 3200+ Venice core based, & will be used mainly for 3D Max & Phothsop, Illustrator & Premiere Pro

I need advice on which motherboard to buy, he is getting a 3200+ Venice right now, but will upgrade to Dual core, 3800+ X2 as soon as it is available in mainstream

I got a choice between A8N-E

There will be no overclocking, the fans will be stock, with 6600GT, & 1 GB RAM

Keep in mind that the system has to run cool, so I will turn on cool n quite for sure, one side exhaust & one rar exhaust ,1 front intake

A8N-E has everything he needs, no need of Firewire, & a SATA 2 HD will be used, but the only thing is how reliable & good this motherboard is, does it support dual core or not for future upgradation

Also will a 400W PSU be enough for this system?

Yep, A8N-E is a fine board. The newer revision boards come with a different chipset cooler but a hardcore overclocker is gonna take that sucker off and put something good (like a Swiftech :D) over the chipset anyways.

Ok, in that case I m ordering an A8N-E Revision 2 motherboard, will make sure that i get the new Northbridge Fan already installed.

He is also ordering a Athlon64 3200+ Venice E6 or E3 core, which we will verify by the OPN BW or BP

although whats the difference between E3 & E6 core, if there is no overclocking. Also, will the stock CPU Fan bundled with the CPU be enough or should i get a 3rd party fan, the fan which comes with AMD already has thermal paste applied, is going for Archetic silver required

The whole system will be installed with a 400W SMPS, will that be enough, keep in mind, a geforce 6600GT will also be used with the system

I got mine.
A8N-E with 3000+ E6 cored.
Very happy with it.
I'm surprised it overclocked the E6 to 2.97Ghz (Prime95'ed for 2 hrs still didn't give any errors! I run it while I sleep today.)
