This is the 2x512mb dual channel kit. Not the 1GB stick. Sorry for not making that clear earlier.

Well Im running 1001 and its stable through the OS load. Ran 10 passes of memtest 0-9 with no errors.

I want to slam this thing and make sure its working because Tuesday is the last day of my return period so I need to decide before then. Any ideas on what tests to run to make sure its going to hold up?

Also, what is the better way of updating the bios: Asus in-windows update or AWDFlash?

6/1 edit - I ran cpu-z and its says Im in dual channel @ 2.5-3-3-8. I haven't updated the bios yet but I noticed they released 1005 beta so I think Ill go for that. Will check back after some more testing.

I got mine working on one stick of 512, because one of my 2 was bad. I have a replacement set coming this week..... Let us know how it works out.

i just bought an asus a8n-e and the 2x512mb kit of corsair value select. then i saw the manual and freaked out.

after that i read a review on newegg.com that some guy booted in single channel, flashed the 1005 bios and then put in the second stick and dual channel worked.

is that something like what you did clarkkent333? if u did something else, please tell me

so cpu-z will tell me if ram is working in dual channel mode?

I actually didn't do anything special at all. I just sticked it in the correct slots. Frankly, I think people aren't reading the manual and are sticking the ram in slots 1 and 2 instead of 1 and 3.
