Damn it! I actually thought this was a current post. This board is a pipe dream, just move on already. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

If this was an Intel board there would be 5 models based on it already.

Don't mean to sound like a troll, just a customer disapointed with ASUS lately.

I actually bought that one a few weeks ago for a friend. She gave me 1.5k to build a computer for her.
Nice board, I also purchased a firewire card, and a wireless pci adapter.

Yeah, wtf that pisses me off how this board doesn't have firewire.
mattburk - I got a question: Is the northbridge fan really as loud as I've heard some reviews?

The board is very nice and very stable. it also O/C's very well......I've built 3 systems with the A8N-E now and each one was very easy and led to a great, stable system. I had firewire with my Audigy Plat. so for me, this was not an issue. I took care of my Northbridge fan by running it through my fan controller. It can be loud ( whine) when running full blast, but not as bad as some other boards I've had and the DFI fan is equally as loud.

As for the premium................sadly, I'd bet we'll never see it!

I did not find the chipset fan to be that loud, it was overpowered by the stock hsf.
I did not build it to be completely quiet as she would not care that much.
I did go with the antec neo power psu-seemed quiet.
