Asus A8N-E or MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum

Hi all

I have t chose between the above two MoBos. Other choices are currently ruled out due to nono-availability in my region ( I live in the middle east).

Can you please recommend a MoBo. Price difference is not an issue. My planned rig is:

Athlon 3800+ X2
1 Gig Corsair Value RAM
1 HDD
1 DVDR
geforce 6200 (For business use, no gaming planned)

I plan to do overclock to say about 2.4 GHz or max 2.5 GHz.

Will a modest 400W PSU be sufficient for above rig?

I had heard some issues with Chipset fan of A8N-E and Rev. 2 doesnt have it. How do I check the MoBo Rev # from the retail box? Any known issues with MSI board. Which is the better of the MoBo overall? FYI, A8N-E is slightly cheaper, though that is not factor for me.

Thanks in advance.

a8n-e hands down best ultra board out.mine o/clocked to 2500mhz on near stock voltage.put some corsair xms 3200c2 ram and run it 1 to 1 with the ram at 1t .ive owned 4 ultra boards and hands down the asus is the best out there.great layout, mature bios,o/clocks well, stable as a rock, and affordable.if your worried about the chipset fan put a zalman heatsink on it like i did and temps stay under 40c.i put a coolermaster blue ice fan on top of it and its a perfect setup.the fan on the msi is no better than asus or any other small fan on these nf4 boards.cooler master makes a heatsink that mounts on the mobo and works as good as the zalman, they come in gold and silver.the blue ice fan comes on a small heatsink available on newegg for about 8 bucks, and its a blue led fan and looks cool.as far as im concerened this asus board is as close to a perfect board as you can buy these days.you will not be disappointed at all with the asus board

I don't have personal experience with those particular mobos, but i would go with the MSI over Asus any day.

I imagine either would do what you want well enough though.

Go with MSI over Asus just as n7 says.
I have had a K8V SE Deluxe go bad on my within the last 6 months.
And I found out months ago my K8N E Deluxe is tarding out. It WILL not run 2gb (2x1gb) at 200. Only 166.
Could me a defective mobo, but the fact that 2 Asus mobos went bad in such a short time... You make the choice. I know I won't buy another ASUS mobo until it is extremely cheap or has a significant better review than MSI or other large manufactures. (Which probably won't happen. So I probably won't ever buy another ASUS.)
