Asus A8N-E and Power Reset Switch

My Asus A8N-E with WinXP Pro does not prompt for hibernated or standy when the Power Switch is pressed. It just reset the PC. What is wrong here?
 
Control Panel, Power Options, Advanced, and change the setting under "when I press the power button".
 
did this and the system responed with Insufficient System Resource Error. I think there should be a patch since I have 2Gbyte of RAM.
 
I will check the BIOS. However, the BSOD posted a Stop Error 0xD3 and the mentioned kmixer.sys. What in the world is kmixer.sys?

kmixer.sys is the kernel audio mixer of Windows
