I decided after several weeks of stabiity to push the O.C. a bit from a timid 2.4 (fsb only) and find when I get into multipliers any settings in the jumper free menu are reset to their defaults. I can dial in any permutation of CPU and DRAM configs but as soon as I change the RAM Mhz all is undone. Is this a lock on the motherboard? I've read of locked multipliers but wasn't aware of it as a limitation on this board. I've reset the defaults in BIOS as well as cleared the CMOS and started over a couple times to rule that out. Is it still possible I've buggered the BIOS?

Just went through the update chipset/BIOS rigamarole (6.7/10.10). Now at least the BIOS recognizes the processor as opteron 175, but same restriction on memory Mhz, unable to apply a divider. Any help?

Sumo,

See if the information in this Thread will help. I know it helped me when I was OC the same MB.

Take care,

Link doesn't seem to work for me but I'd hazzard a guess that you're pointing to the "I am your father" thread, which I have read more than once. I tried lots of things not noted in my post for brevity's sake, including the floppy drive nonsense. I'll keep at it...
