Asus A88xm switch question

Hey guys
I'm sitting up an APU rig today, using an Asus A88XM-PLUS/CSM motherboard.
I noticed a strange switch on it, which I've never seen before and the mobo manual has very little info on it.
It's a physical switch at the top, above the CPU. Called "GPU BOOST"

Any general idea what its for? I assume some strange hardware OC for a video card?
Thing is this rig will only be using the gpu feature of the A10 6800k. Would that switch even have an effect on the APU?

From Asus :

GPU Boost -Unlock integrated graphics performance for up to 30% boost

Its only meant for the APU's GPU. It should have no benefit to a video card.
