Asus A7v8x-x bios problem

Ok, so I built this computer for a friend, everything was going great, everything was working well, then all of a sudden the thing starts just shutting off for no reason when I run some applications, it is random, shuts off when I try to connect to a server for MoH, shut off after I was checking the cpu temp in the bios, shut off when I was installing gamespy. I know the problem is in the Motherboard, it is not an overheating cpu. My problem is I tried to update the bios, I downloaded the latest file from the asus website, ran the EZ bios utility, typed in the bios name from the A drive and it kept giving me the message "Warning, Bios file does not match on board, hit key to reboot" anyone have any ideas? I know it is the right bios file for my motherboard.
 
Mourningshadow - I have no help but would like to know if and how you solved the problem. I was just about to update the bios on my a7v8x-x but now kind of think...I can wait awhile! Good luck, let us know.
 
This is a dumb question, but you're sure you selected the "x" version of the motherboard when you pulled down the bios off of asus?
