ASUS a7v8x problem with boot up

i have just installed a a7v8x/2200xp it goes thru the boot screens fine but then it stopsat the windows splash screen and wont get to desk top
any ideas out there

Are you trying to migrate an existing Windows installation to the new board? If so, might have to reinstall Windows.

yes thats what im doing so you think i should format my c drive i have 2 partitions c is my opp system

Yeah, or if you want, you can try reinstalling Windows over itself first, before going the whole way and reformatting. This may save all your programs and just get Windows familiarized with the new hardware.
