Asus A7V8X: How to enable S/PDIF coax out?

Hi,

I'd like to run a coax digital connection between my PC and my home theater receiver. I can't figure out how to enable to the digital out on my Asus A7V8X. There's nothing in the manual other than how to connect the external connector.

What drivers do I need to install? I'm guessing this is covered by the Realtek drivers? If so, where is it set? I've poked around the device manager but can't seem to find it. FWIW, under the volume control there is a section for SPDIF volume, but it's disabled (greyed out).
