Ok, this is one of the strangest things I've seen before in my overclocking attempts. I want to see if anyone else has had this experiece.

I'm running my AthlonXP 2100+ currently at stock speed, with DDR 400 RAM, running at 333. I wanted to run my processor in sync with my ram - overclock it to 166. I knew I'd never do it without messing with the multiplier, but I didn't want to try to unlock it. One day I decided to just change the multiplier in the BIOS to see if it would work, and somehow, amazingly enough, it did. It POSTed without problem, reporting the correct speed. I could get into windows, but no matter what I did I could not make it stable in games, even underclocking the overall prossessing speed to 1600Mhz. I hoped that the problem was BIOS related, and so gave up on it and went back to stock speed. (this was all done with BIOS 1010)

I downloaded the new BIOS 1011, and after flashing the motherboard, it no longers POSTs at all if I change the multiplier. It doesn't matter what I change it to, or what the FSB is set to - the computer will simply no longer POST. Now I'm stuck wondering; If my processor isn't unlocked, how did I manage to change the FSB before? And if it is, why doesn't it work now?

I have reflashed to 1010 again to make sure it was the BIOS, and it worked again. It could POST. Is this just a freak BIOS issue?

Hey i suggest you pull the jumper off of ur vcore setting jumper that allows you to select overvolt. This will unlock all voltages up to 1.850, this also lets you fiddle with more settings, may solve your problem if you havent allready figure it out, btw 2000+xp tb @1.921mhz 334 fsb 1.825 voltage 11.5X167/33 settings. Try the jumper free mode though if nothign else it will help you when you go to overclock
