Bump and quick question... please tell me that i shouldnt have trouble when i put in 2 more stick of 512 golden dragon. The board has 3 dimm slots so i didnt think it would be a issue, but for some reason i dont see many normal systems over 1gb of ram. Is this because it isnt really necessary or because boards run into issues running 3 sticks?

I have an ASUS A7V600-X motherboard and the associated user guide.
According to the user guide, "PC3200 to 2 banks only."
I don't know if your "golden dragon" memory is PC3200 or not,
or perhaps more importantly, if you are running the memory bus
at 400MHz or not. If you are, there may be issues using 3 dimms.

I recommend that you verify for yourself what I have stated above.
I have read surveys that have found that 85% of the American population
does not read the manuals that accompany electronic devices. Not a good
practice. If you don't already have a manual, you can download a PDF
version at the ASUS support website. There is additional information in the
manual that I haven't gone into (for brevity's sake) that tends to back
my opinion that only 2 dimms can be run (stably) at 200MHz (400MHz DDR)
on this board.

If you are running your memory at a lower frequency, then it is likely
that my statements above will not apply since the limitations outlined
in the ASUS manual seemingly apply just to PC3200 memory, with no
mention of limitations on memory below PC3200.

Good luck.
