Asus A7V400MX - DDR400 RAM?

Can I plug in my DDR400 1GB DDR RAM into my Asus A7V400-MX (socket A) motherboard?
I read somewhere it supports only DDR333 ..
Is that true?
So , In Short, Will the RAM not work?

It should work since DDR400 is backward compatible to DDR333. It'll just run at a slow speed.
