Asus A7v333 USB 2.0 problem.

hi, I have an Asus a7v333 board and just got a new tdk velocd 40x external usb2.0 cdrw, but it doesn't work when I plug it in the usb 2.0 port. It detects the drive, but it says that I am using it on a low speed usb port. I have make sure the usb2.0 jumper is on and I plug it in the bottom part, which is the usb2.0 of the two usb ports. Also, I have installed the new 2.02 usb2.0 driver. I am currently using dual os. WinXP and win98. Both of them do not work, when I plug it in the usb2.0, but It works when I plug it in the usb1.0 port. Please help me out here!

yahoo.... got it solved myself. Set the usb2.0 jumper to +5v and everything is solved. I am not surprise. After all, it's Asus. So far, I have two problems but all solved by myself. It's an overall great board. hehe... I haven't played with the audio, since I have a pci sound card. Hopefully, it will work great. Either way, it doesn't matter since I don't usually trust those onboard audio anyway. hehehe.. Cool my tdk velocd external 40x does a little overburned 80min cd in 3.5 mins flat. Damn, this is a great one. hehe...
I guess I will stick with this one for a while. I really hope they come out with a real portable one. Actually any techie out there? I am thinking of trying to make a portable power supply for this thing. Any suggestions?

Piece of cake! 😀 They already make such a thing, we got a pair of these beauties where I work recently. They'd give you about an hour of runtime, maybe a little more with an LCD monitor instead of a CRT. Then again, they weigh 58 pounds each... 😉

One Pentium3 server, a 17" monitor and some switches will go about an hour on one of those 750XL's... a bit overboard if all we want is to have time to shut down, I guess, but for just $500 each... why not. I like the active voltage correction too, considering our "mature" building.
