My A7V266-E were working fine, until I pull out my memory and put in a stick of 256mb to see is the new memory working or not. After I install the new memory in the computer will not boot up, it had power and everything but just dont had the beep sound.

Now I had take everything out the computer, just had the memory (the one I had been using), cpu and the video card in the computer and it is still not booting up....this really PISS me off. I had clear the CMOS many times and it is still not booting up.....

please help

If this is the same setup as the a7v133 then check to see if their is a Mobo trace underneath the cpu socket retention clips

Not sure will this kill the CPU, I had run the cpu with the headsink and fan for less than 10 seconds. According to my experience this is what I do to test cpu and test at my work....but I hadn't done this for a while so not sure about the new chips....I hope I didn't burn it.

I had a Duron 1G and also run it with out the fan and heatsink for about 10 seconds, not more than 20. That CPU is not working too....I don't know is it me or AMD....even since I switched to AMD from intel I had all sort of computer problem......🙁

You ran a Duron 1.1Ghz without a FAN. Not to mention without a HEATSINK too?? That's it, you're one dead man. 🙂

As for the RAM, are you sure that you put the RAM in the right position. Many people tend to fry their RAM slots and DImms when they forced the Dimm into the slot without knowing that it's in the wrong position.

I burned my xp 1600, my new duron 1G, and my girlfirend's TB 1400. I hate AMD now...........

I guess I set the record of burning the most CPU in three days......😱

Mobo-trace = Motherboard trace wire i.e. the little tracks that run from the different parts of the board. Check and see if their is one under the cpu ziff socket retention clips, if it is scratched it can cause problems.

You have a problem. Don't hate AMD for it. 🙂

I ran into this same problem when I loaded new bios... My problem was that I was running a raid system and when I reset the bios, it wouldn't boot from the raid even after I put scsi/raid as the only boot up device. All I did was start the initial loading of XP where it ask you for 3rd party drivers and reloaded the drivers for the promise raid control... after that was done.. I just rebooted and system came back up.
