This board is fvckin expensive! I mean I know we all know that Asus boards are always more expensive, but this time they really pushed it too far. Here in Toronto I found it at one dealer for 284.99 (this is CND of course)... I used to think that the A7M266 was expensive when I had seen it for like 250.oo so this is just ridiculous. Asus doesn't really have a reason to charge so much, they aren't giving me more than either MSI or the other board manufacturers. This really sucks because I like Asus boards, but I think I'll have to replace my A7V with something else this time. Sorry, didn't mean to beat a dead horse (asus is expensive) but yeah, ridiculous.

yep,

ASUS and ABIT (and following closely, SOYO) are the most overpriced boards on the market. ASUS and ABIT are constantly in competition for the "Most Expensive Board Of The Year" award. :D There really isn't any point in spending $50-75 more.

Hey, I'm also in the Toronto area, and was wondering if you were also looking for a good cheap KT266a solution. The Asus as you say is expensive. Would you recommend waiting for the Abit KR7A (non-raid) board or would that also be too expensive?

Epox 8KHA+ is a great board if setup right and instructions are followed. Heck, while you are at it, get it pre-tested before buying it.

Mine has been running like my old-old Asus P3B-F! Which is probably one of the most stable mobo's eva! This is my first Epox experience and certainly not my last, now!

Maybe Asus will come out with a non-raid offering that will be cheaper, I also don't doubt that the price will come down over the next few weeks. I hope it does anyways. It does seem like a nice board (AFAIConcerned) and I do like Asus products, just not Asus prices.
