I just build a 1.4 thunderbird box with a asus a7v266-e and I love it. I paid a bit more for this board but ASUS never lets me down. For some reason I always have trouble with boards from other manufacturers but its always hassle free with Asus :) My board is rock solid.. hasnt froze on me yet this whole week.. not a single incompatibility.

If I could, I would like to know your opinion on ASUS, and why you like their boards. If you see above or probably below now, I'm having trouble with my first ASUS. Right now I'm not too fond of them, being that mine was the first for my personal use. It didn't show a good first impression. Please let me know what you think, so that I can give ASUS the respect that it deserves. People speak highly of their board, but I've really enjoyed the Iwill Socket A's. Thanx.

AkumaBao generally it's helpful to understand what problems you're having with your Asus board. Most of the time it's operator error. Might not be the case, but you never know.

Asus tends to make one of the most stable, high performing boards on the market. I've done a fair amount of due dilligence on them, worked for one of the largest PC manuf out there after grad school and other than Tyan, no other company in terms of qualitative and quantitative manuf line measures comes close.

That being said, no problems whatsoever with my A7V266E.

From the countless systems that I have built, most were Abit and Asus, a few others, but I really never had a MAJOR problem except when it comes to flashing the Bios. One of the nice things that Asus does(and a few others) is to use a flashing utility within windows, seems to reduce the amount of bad flashes that I had with a few manufacturers. Asus never let me down on performance and reliability and support. I am planning on buying this board, with confidence.

I have flashed my BIOS to the newest BIOS, and problem still persists. Don't let my statment confuse you. "this is my first ASUS for personal use", not my first motherboard. My configuration is correct, and my jumper settings are correct. A matter of fact I asked why Kraeji liked ASUS so much. I just wanted some input to change my first impression on ASUS. The very first ASUS I put in my Brother's computer you needed to do a BIOS update to use both DDR slots. So my impressions are so far not good towards ASUS. I'm not asking how to fix MY problem. I just want someone to give some positive insight. Thank you.

As for my problem it's in another thread asking if there was an issue with this board.
