I just installed this 2 days ago with an Athlon XP 1800 and I believe the chip is running hot...49C because the voltage for VCore is around 1.82 as reported by the onboard hardware monitor and MBM5. I am running in Jumper free mode and the lowest the BIOS will allow me to select is 1.800. I was going to go with jumper mode and manually set 1.75V but there is no multiplier available for 11.5 on the dipswitches so I can't do jumper free..

Also, is there anyway to disable the onboard raid so it doesn't try to looad the Promise bios everytime..I have an all scsi system so no need for IDE..

Am I missing something here?

Try this... manually assign vcore to 1.70-1.75v leave the jumper at athlon-duron not at palomino. Don't use the reserved temp. sensor just use the athon temp reader. Only way to disable the promise start up is a new bios unless you want to use a beta bios which is available at asus ger. site
