I run an 900 MHz Athlon Thunderbird on an ASUS A7V133 motherboard with a generic heat sink/fan unit. I've owned the computer for about 1 1/2 years now. I have never had problems with it until this week. My computer hung up and rebooted itself on me a couple of times. I've narrowed the possible cause to processor temperature. Since then, I've been monitor the temperature quite frequently. It appears to be running at about 53C to 64C range (most of the time it's been under 60C).
Here comes my question: for you all ASUS motherboard users, have you had problems with the temperature readings straight from the BIOS? It appears to me that it's reporting a slightly higher temperature than what it actually is - can anyone confirm my finding? Also, how warm does your CPU get? What HS/F unit do you use? What's the normal temperature range for my motherboard/CPU combo?
Thanks in advance!
