Hey, guys. I'm building another machine for a customer. I was wondering that since 1.2Ghz 266Mhz bus Thunderbirds aren't due out for a long time, could I just run 9x133??? Will that give it a 266Mhz bus? Also, would I have to short the L1 bridges to do this? If anything, I would just run 12x100, the default. Could I put Arctic Silver on the KT133A chipset, because I was told that no grease of any sort is installed. Also, anyone using the RAID function? I was reading an article this morning and they said they couldn't run RAID and have sound. Sound wouldn't work with RAID functions on. They had that problem with both the onboard and a card-type Soundcards. Can anyone confirm these conclusions? I really want to get this board a lot, but not so sure.

Thanks.

1.2Ghz CPUs are usually already have the L1 bridges connected. You should beable to go right in and set what you want (9x133 is fine). As for RAID and Sound it works fine, that review was a very BAD review. He had a conflict somewhere and then got mad and just blamed it on the board. We all know conflicts happen with KT133A since it only has 5 IRQ busmaster channels.

Awesome! Thanks a lot dude! So, why is everyone waiting for the 266Mhz bus if you can do 9x133??? Isn't that the same thing as the 266Mhz bus version would be set to or what? I'm gonna order me the Asus A7V133 on Monday!!!!!! Yiippeeee! Hehe. My friend will be thankful, I am sure of that!

Because not everyone is willing to do it, they want it "offical". And OEMs etc have to wait, they NEED it to be offical.

I have that mb. I got it for the RAID(0) controller (allegedly faster than my current U2SCSI). I couldn't get W2k Pro to install on the stripe-set. I got a blue-screen during the part where you load the drivers. I still haven't tried it with bios v1002 yet. Other than that little gotcha, it seems to be a good mb.

Correction - Last driver installed by my B-in-law was the SBLive and BSOD. Anyone have any trouble with the SBLive and A7V133 or is it just a driver issue. My A7V has no problem running the SBLive!
