Asus A7V133 - can I use this cpu?

Okay... but will I be able to run it up to 1.33 ghz or am I limited to 1 ghz?

edit: if anyone wants a dead 1 ghz socket a cpu for real cheap, LMK.

According to their web site, bios version 1007 adds support for the Athlon XP CPU. No other details are listed though.

Yes it will work 100% as long as you have the latest bios for the board. I have had a athlon 1400 (266) and some of the AthlonXP chips in this board with no problems

yep it'll work

when u first put the new tbird in, it'll boot up with 100fsb (so only at 1000mhz)
just go into the bios and change the fsb to 133 to make it 1.33 ghz

I sent an email to tech support asking a very similar question. My question was what is the maximum AMD CPU I can use on this board. Their response:

A7V133 and A7V133-C can support Athlon 1.4G with BIOS version 1005 or later.

check the PCB version of your A7V133. The PCB version is often printed beside the model name on the motherboard. BIOS 1008
can support Athlon XP 2100+.

Essentially, if you have PCB 1.04 and BIOS 1005 or later, your maximum CPU is an Athlon 1.4 GHz.

If you have PCB 1.05. and BIOS 1007 or later, then you can support all the way upto Athlon XP 2100+.
