Asus A7V133 and new Athlon XP Processors??

Well, I went to a computer show today and decided to buy a new processor (a new Athlon XP 1500). I originally going to buy a 1.4 Athlon processory but was told that they didn't have anymore so they mentioned the Athlon XP. I asked if it was compatible with my motherboard (Asus A7V133) and they assured me that it was. All I did was remove my old processor (AMD Athlon 1 gig) and replace it with the Athlon XP 1500. Now, all my screen does is blink at me. I have reseated the video card and all that and still it just blinks at me. I don't understand what is the deal. My motherboard supports the 266 FSB so I just don't get it. Please help.

Think you have to update the bios to be able to use an XP processor...? something like 1.07...?
