Hey guys 'n gals...

i built my first pc this weekend

Its an A7V133 + 900mhz with all the extra goodies...etc

My 300w case has not been closed yet, the Asus PC Probe is telling me my CPU is running at 49 C with idle (thats 120 F) ... under load, the max i have seen it gone to is 51 C
I haven't noticed any lockups or anything yet.

Is this NORMAL?

I have a CoolerMaster DP5-6H51 HSF

Or is the Asus PC Probe screwed?

Please help me out...

Thanks.

are you using thermal tape or paste? ive heard that the ASUS probe isn't all that accurate because its sposed to be a bit far from the actual cpu core? someone correct me if im wrong. But i have heard something about that probe being off..so you may not actually be at 49 C.

What's your full load temp? If its in the 50-55C range, your temps are fine for an a7v. A7v series boards compensate the temp more, resulting in "higher" read temps.

I am using the thermal pad which comes with the Coolmaster HSF.

I did take the blue sticker off the pad before installing the HSF to the cpu...

So far, under full load (installing apps...etc, the temp has not gone over 55 C

Where can i download benchmark utilities such has Content Creation Winstone 2000, SYSmark 2000...etc? I want to put some serious load on this machine, to see how it holds up...

Thanks.
