ASUS A7V

I have an ASUS A7V MB. Irecently changed the System Performance Setting in my bios from standard to optimal. My system will not bootup now. I've tried resetting the bios back to the default by shorting out the RTC nodes on the MB but that hasn't worked. Ayn suggestions?
