Yesterday I got my new powerunit, processor, motherboard, RAM and cooling fan. I put everything together, and started up my machine. Now there are some points I know very little about. They are clock frequencys on RAM and CPU, and hard-drive connecting to Ultra-ATA-100 or what it's called. What I need help with is this :

My cpu is now running at 900MHz. That is 100MHz cpu frequency clocked by 9.0 multiplier ratio. The RAM is running at 100MHz too, though it's 133MHz RAM. How do I get it up to 1,2GHz and get most out of the RAM ? I had some Windows problems yesterday, so I had to reinstall it, now I really don't know wether the processor or Windows was the trouble, but some setup instructions would sure do good.

My hard-disk is now plugged into the Primary IDE Connector as MASTER. Can I simply put the motherboard connector over to ATA-100 connector, and it will work as ULTRA-ATA-100 ? My HD is made for ULTRA-ATA-100 before you ask So can I just put it over there, or do I have to format or run anything ? I'm not going to use RAID.

Will be VERY happy for some help, and please, don't be too brief :)

Do you have a A7V or A7V133? If its a A7V133 just go into the BIOS and set the FSB to 133. If you have a A7V you have to switch to 12x100 and then you can set the memory to 133.

I have a A7V133, it's that simple ? Hmm... I'll try.What about the HD stuff, anyone ?
Also, which BIOS version do you recommend.

The ram is easy you just go into the bios and change it from 100 to 133 and if you have good memory you can chane it tp 7nc cas 2, I have a Asus A7V133 with a 1.33 266, Two IBM 30's on the raid and I don't know if it right or not but a shop said you have to use user define and set that to 133 on the 266 processors and if the processor is not set right it will cause windows problems or that is what he said I had to reformat to and yes you can just run it as a ultra 100 if you are not going to use the raid, use the ultra 100 driver and not the raid

Actually you should set your FSB to 133, so you'll get 133x12. You can also set the memory speed in the BIOS. I'm assuming you have the A7V133, since you got the 266FSB processor.
