MOBO: Asus A7V (KT133)
Proc: Duron 600Mhz @ 850Mhz

This is a computer that was running completely stable. Sold it to a friend, worked for about a week. Now when it boots up it says "Press any key to rebooot" will not boot off floppy, hd, cdrom, anything. reset bios, downclocked to 600Mhz, nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

First thing I would do is plug in a new (and standard -- not USB) keyboard in.

After that, move the hd off the promise controller and onto the VIA IDE controller.

The promise controller can cause alot of problems. Get the computer up and running again, then you can move the hd back onto promise

Where in the boot process does this message come up?

Can you get into the BIOS?

If you can get into the BIOS by hitting 'del' then the keyboard is fine

The keyboard is just fine. The problem happens after the system self test and things right about when the windows screen is supposed to come on.

You said it WON"T boot from a floppy?

If so, it's time to swap CPU and/or MoBo.
